MR. SUBHI BENKHADRA

C.E.O.

Joined as Chief Executive Officer of Al Ashram Investments in October 2017.

Mr. Benkhadra previously served as a bond trader at the United Bank of Kuwait PLC in London in 1987, then as the Product Development Officer for the Investment Division during 1990 and as Head of Arab Capital Markets by 1995.

Mr. Benkhadra joined PrimeCorp Investment Management Limited in 1999 as Deputy Managing Director of the asset management business and as C.E.O. and Managing Director of Investment Trust Limited in 2001.

Mr. Benkhadra joined Esterad Investment Company BSC in Bahrain in 2003 as C.E.O. In 2010, he served as C.E.O and Managing Director of the European Islamic Investment Bank and joined the Board of Esterad as a Director.

Mr. Benkhadra joined Baniyas Investment and Development Co LLC in Abu Dhabi as C.E.O. by 2012.

He then returned to Bahrain in 2015 to head the International Investment Bank for two years.

BSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Bath and MBA in Finance from City University Business School.

Ex-member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bankers’ Association in London, the Board of Governors of Brighton College (UAE), director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Egypt) and a director of Accelerator Technology Holdings (Jordan).

MR. HEMANT BHADRA

C.F.O.

Joined Al Ashram Investments as Chief Financial Officer in January 2018.

Mr. Hemant Bhadra has over 22 years of investment banking experience of which 18 years have been spent on private equity, real estate investments and investment management in MENA, India and U.K.

Prior to his previous position as Head of Private Equity & Real Estate at International Investment Bank in Bahrain, Mr. Bhadra held senior positions at Dar Al Mal in Dubai for 3 years and at Esterad Investment Company in Bahrain for 9 years. Mr. Bhadra also worked for JP Morgan’s proprietary private equity investments in India. Prior to that Mr. Bhadra worked at two financial institutions in the GCC after moving from the investment banking division of a large institution in India in 1997.

CFA designation from CFA Institute (USA) and Chartered Accountant from ICAI, India (securing a position in the top merit list).

DR. KHALID EL-ALI

Investment Consultant

Mr. Khalid El-Ali joined as an Investment Consultant to Al Ashram Investments in 2017.

Mr. Khalid El-Ali joined the United Bank of Kuwait PLC (London) in 1998 as a financial consultant.

In 1999, he joined PrimeCorp Investment Management as a fund manager. He then took up the position of senior fund manager for MENA equities at Investment Trust, London, in 2001.

Mr. El-Ali joined Esterad Investment Company in 2003 as head of non-direct investment.

In 2003, Mr. El-Ali joined Baniyas Investment and Development Company in Abu Dhabi as C.F.O. He then became head of asset management of GFH in 2015.

Mr. El-Ali served as an advisor to International Investment Bank in 2016.

PhD in Mathematics from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London.
